Clans are mostly full of young, vibrant vampires who feel the urge to party hard and thirst on the weak. The thought of obeying their leaders leaves hatred and nueroticism in their heads, thus making it easy for them to rebel. The lust between vampires and humans is nothing knew. They press themselves so close to eachother, they feed as if it is an excstacy, as if bondage was last centuries craze. Fresh blood was the hottest thing and frenzies were a way to celebrate.

Though there are few vampires who resist the urge to feed, at least through sinking their teeths and taking life. These vampires take an Oath of Faulter and if they stray their path, they have written their name in their own blood to be killed on the spot. It is not required, but a solemn option to those who are kind of heart. It is thus their responsibility to find ways to feed without harming the living. This makes it difficult and usually requires catching wild animals, fish, bloodbanks, or freshly dead sluaghter or humans. Though this does not mean their urges for the freshness does not exist and many have been slain for faultering in their oaths.

However those who do not take an oath strive. They look for the weak and prey like vultures. Many times they feed in packs, sharing their take or replenishing their clans.

Vala Korin is a 168 years old. Young as he may be, he is apart of a bloodline and one of the leaders of the Protective Clans.

His older brother Reginald used to be supreme of them, but after his change of demeanor, he vanished.

Vala has taken the Oath of Faulter and chooses to feed through the bloodbank at the coronor’s office at central park. He is a Forensic Analyst himself and getting access is easy for him, but it has to be done carefully or he could be caught. The longest he personally has gone without feeding is three days. Vala was urged to work as he does to gain access to medical files and the bodies of the found victims. While he marks down false reports of their death, he keeps his own records mentally of every mark and every person he reviews. His job requires him to pay frequent visits to the hostpital.

He is by far the easiest person to get along with. His face is always sincere, no sense of humor, and as brave as he may be, his persistance to stay as distant from peopleas possible has caused many to fear him and him to fear them. The thought of a possible faulter lingers in his mind and while he does not fear dieing, he does fear the screams of the victim he hurts.

Vala Recently moved locations after a sudden uproar of headlines struck the media in Sunset Valley. It was not something he wanted to do, but something he had to. His first task was to examine bodies at the morgue, but the hostpital insisted the forensic expert work with a resident of their staff to secure the identities and share information. He was introduced to a young women by the name Anya.

Her demeanor was stern, serious, and her reaction to Vala was like she had swollowed a peice of burnt toast. His rude behavior was inconceivable as he refused to shake her hand and as he obliged to reply to her greeting it was a mutter between his teeth. It was apparent their dislike for eachother was emminent.

Truth be told, Anya was lovely, quaint, and delicate, while at the same time strong and brave. Her eyes were filled with more anger than fear of his demeanor and it shook him a bit. She led him down to the morgue asking questions of why he was transferred, what he was looking for, what information he had accumulated, and every answered was a “yes, no, an abundance,” all short, abrupt answers that set a spark off in Anya’s head. She pulled out a cooler flat which held a busty corpse covered in a white sheet. Vala reached over and jerked the sheet off, revealing a neck that looked as if a chainsaw took a large chunk from it. Anya had slipped on a mask and tossed Vala one as well, She put on a glove and slowly turned the neck and with her other hand pointed towards the point holes that caused the most injury.

However something more interesting caught, a ring Anya was wearing. He grabbed her hand and looked intentley at it. “Where did you get this,” He asked her, his voice shuttering through his teeth. Her response was cluttered as her voice was confused, “I-I don’t know, I have had it since I was a little girl, why?” He let go of her hand, and turned back to the body, “Nothing, I have just seen it before is all.” He asked her questions such as where they found this particular body, the scenery, the time and so forth and she gave him all the answers he wanted, but it was still on her mind where she got the ring. It was a ruby, cast in gold, identical to one he knows all to well. It was something he would have to look into, but in the meantime, his job was emminent.

Anya shrugged and left him to his work. “I have to get back up to residency. I trust I can leave you here without problems. There is a monitor on the wall for you to ring the main floor if you need assistance.” She left casually, precisely wanted Vala was hoping she would do.

He turned the  victims head away from him and leaned forward, his fang bulging past his lips. They sank deep into the pre existing wounds and his eyes fluttered rapidly behind his head. All the memories of the corpse rushed into his mind through the remaining blood in the body. He saw the killer closely, his clear eyes, versus Vala’s red. The vampire was a Seductive, or at least used to be. Pulling himself away, he shook his head, trying to gain control of himself. He grabbed a clothe from the counter and washed his face free of all blood residue and made his way out of the hostpital his notes in hand.

This is fantastic! I’m curious, though, you mention Dhampir. Is this a reference to the Hendee books? I just picked up the first book the other day, but have not started reading it yet.
